Key Features and Design
The Thruxton 400 is designed as a contemporary interpretation of the classic cafe racer silhouette, sharing its 398cc platform with the Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X models.
Design: It includes classic cafe racer elements such as a sleek front fairing, clip-on handlebars for a more aggressive riding posture, rear-set footpegs, bar-end mirrors, and a color-matched removable rear seat cowl. It also features a polished Monza-style fuel cap.
Engine: The bike is powered by a more potent version of the 398cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder TR series engine. This iteration produces 41.4 hp at 9,000 rpm and 27.7 lb-ft of torque at 7,500 rpm, which is a 5% increase in peak power over the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X models, achieved through a revised camshaft profile and new engine tune.
Technology: Rider aids are integrated seamlessly, including ride-by-wire throttle, switchable traction control, a torque-assist clutch, and ABS. It also has an analog speedometer with an integrated multi-function LCD screen and a USB-C charging port.
Chassis: While it shares a tubular steel frame with its 400cc counterparts, the Thruxton 400 has unique suspension settings, 43mm inverted Showa Big Piston forks with 5.3 inches of travel, and specific chassis geometry (rake, trail, wheelbase) to provide a sharper, more responsive ride.
Colors: In the U.S. market, the 2026 model will be available in three color options: Phantom Black and Aluminum Silver, Pearl Metallic White and Storm Gray, and Metallic Racing Yellow with Aluminum Silver.
